    October 14, 1985 ATLANTA (AP) _ Coca-Cola USA said today it will begin testing a plastic soft-drink can this week.
    The announcement said plastic cans of Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Classic, Diet Coke and Sprite will be delivered to selected food stores in Columbus, Ga. It said no other soft drinks in the United States are sold in a plastic can.
    In remarks prepared for a news conference in Columbus, Dan Haas, manager of packaging for Coca-Cola USA, said use of the plastic can ″is a market test, and we have made no firm decision on the long-term commercial application of the can in the soft drink market.″
