This is an Antique 19th Century US Corvette Steam Sailing Ship Warship Shadow Box Sailor Built Ship Model and Case...The case measures 19 x 15 x 6 inches and has a label on the front as well as built in to the top naming the ship and with specifications…It is named Canada which does not match a US warship name though it has the US flag at the transom and US shield on the bow...I did find an HMS Canada from 1881 which matches the ship fairly closely in style ( Corvette , Hull design, and Steam Sail ) and size as well as the photo I found of it is very similar...The model has very good detail including the steam funnel and propulsion as well as lifeboats and many armament details...It is securely mounted inside the original wood and glass case… Overall a very unique old sailor built model ship… Buyer pays shipping.
