    Beautiful antique 19th Century engraving is titled: " THE SAILOR'S HOME - " THE STORM IS RAGING TONIGHT ". Engraving depicts a sailor's wife praying for his safe return while her children play with an early model ship. A cute little dog is also in this heartwarming scene.
    Engraving came from a very rare antiquarian art book printed in 1881. There is printing on the reverse side but this is printed on thick stock and does not show through to the front.
    The engraving is in very good condition and would look beautiful framed.  There is a small dog ear in the lower right hand corner which is a little loose at the top but right now still holding pretty well. This could possibly break off but  if it does this could be covered when framing. A few light smudges on the outer border but all very minor & light.    The engraving is large and measures 9 1/2" x 13 1/4".

    The actual engraving is much sharper than these photos depict.
